Companion Tables to the Canadian Language Benchmarks.
Tucked away in the CLB website, this document is a great supplement to the CLBs (and easier to deal with). Includes breakdowns of each CLB level, descriptions of the tasks and texts appropriate for each level. An easy reference guide when planning lessons.

Phonetics Flash Animation Project
From the University of Iowa
, this site contains "animated libraries" of the phonetic sounds of English, German and Spanish.  For each consonant and vowel, there is an animated articulatory diagram, a step-by-step description, and video-audio of the sound spoken in context. Worth checking out.

The Corpus of Contemporary American English
If you're interested in corpus based research (and who isn't) or need to check on usage , this website from Brigham Young University gives you access to a regularly updated corpus of 400 million words of text. Looks complicated, but they provide information and instructions throughout and even offer a 5 minute guided tour.

You might even submit a question to GramTime news, from Vaxjo University, Sweden. They'll find an answer with the aid of their grand database which incorporates varieties of English, and English genres. They won't tell you what's correct; but they'll tell you what people use.
